Over the past year, Montenegrin musician Andrija Krivokapic, better known as Masturbateor and a member of Barska 100ka, has released a handful of new and old material, i.e. music he has created over the past years, which the audience has not been able to hear before. In addition to his solo works, in 2024 he also treated fans of Montenegrin underground music to several songs he recorded in collaboration with Brac Subotic - Wicked Ras (“”Take a Stand”, “Like Witches”, “Brzinom svjetlosti” i “Fill My Cup”).

In an interview with "Vijesti" at the end of last year, he announced that he would soon release a new album, and if everything goes according to plan, "Posterity" will arrive on February 28th. In the meantime, he has collaborated with his colleague Spirom, on the song "Antistatik", for which they also recorded a video, which can be listened to on the YouTube channel and digital platforms.

When asked what Masturbeator and Shpira are bringing this time, Krivokapić answers for "Vijesti".

“'Antistatik' is an energy bomb packed into four minutes of sound. We had already finished the song three years ago and sometime before its release, my computer's hard drive died and I lost two or three years of work. He kept the vocals, and I created a completely new music and this is definitely the right version,” Krivokapić shared an interesting detail at the beginning of the conversation. “This is a logical continuation of my joint work with Shpira. We released the song 'The Heat' together four years ago, for which we also recorded a video, which is in English and is also characterized by a similar aggressive and furious sound,” he continues.

The song "Antistatik" was released with a video, but only Shpira appears in it, while Masturbeator decided to stay behind the camera.

"I'm only behind the camera in the context of not appearing in the video itself, while the footage in front of the improvised blue background was recorded by Shpir with my webcam in my house. He also did excellent typography that goes over the image and which greatly influenced the way I edited the entire video. And if you're wondering why I'm not in the video, well, this is his story and I'm glad he's the frontman in the final video," concludes Krivokapić, who announces the album "Posterity" with this single, and explains why "Antistatik" was chosen as the launch single for the entire project.

"I wanted to break the bad luck of losing data and release the song and video as soon as we both finished them, and given what's happening here and in our neighbors' neighborhoods, the timing is ideal. I'm happy that the song ended up on this album of mine. And this won't be the only song we'll release together this year," he promises.

As he says, “Posterity” will be released in full on February 28th, and will feature several more collaborations.

"It's very colorful, I can't define it in terms of genre. It's still, as always, some mutations of beats, trance, dubstep, drum'n'bass. There are a few dancefloor-oriented songs, there are a couple of horror film-shaped songs, and some melancholic, but also more positive emotions. I wanted the album to contain songs that are completely different from each other and come from other worlds. There are a few more collaborations, but more about that when the album is released," hints Masturbateor.

Asked if there will be more film adaptations, the musician reveals that this is the year to return works he lost due to unfortunate circumstances.

"I plan to finally release this year the audio-visual work 'Claustrophobia' that I recorded eight years ago, which I also almost finished and guess what - it was all gone when the hard drive died," Krivokapić "bragged".

"The footage has been saved elsewhere and I'm working up the energy to edit it all, and it will probably take a month or two to complete it from scratch. I've posted some announcements for it on my Instagram account over the years. I also owe Nenad, the actor from the video, to complete it. The vision is still strong and I want to release it into the world,” he points out.

"I had some more lost videos that were in the works, but I won't waste time on them, because the files are almost all gone, I only have some screenshots and tests left, which I will definitely publish as such," adds the musician.

When it comes to the album premiere, he says he has no concrete plans for now.

"There are no specific plans, except that I will probably distribute a lot of my music on certain streaming services. There will be no album promotion, although that is something that could change suddenly," Krivokapić said.

Defense and shield from all negative influences that surround us

Shpira reveals more about the lyrics of the single, which are critical of society and the message that one should be anti-static.

"Antistatic at the same time as a defense and shield from all the negative influences that surround us, and on the other hand as a movement that cannot be stopped. An action that must be initiated in order for things to change," he believes.

"Most of the lyrics were written about ten years ago, but I never had the chance to complete it with music until I showed it to Masturbateor. He really liked the lyrics, so I added the second verse. During that period, before we started discussing the song, I also made some street art posters and stickers with part of the lyrics," adds Shpira.
