The break was from authorship, not from music.

Many musicians will say that they are privileged to have the opportunity to do what they love, and the Montenegrin singer does not hide the fact that music is his greatest love. Davor Vučetić. However, making music in such a small space is not easy, there are numerous challenges that musicians in Montenegro face, and breaks are sometimes inevitable. Davor has been on the music scene since 2009, and he dates his beginnings to the Sunčane skale festival. He has never adapted to trends, because he does not want to be dishonest, and although he took a seven-year recording break, as he says, he is now ready to make up for it all. He recently returned with the song "Dobro je" signed by Vanja Radovanović, and in an interview with "Vijesti" he reveals how difficult it was to find a worthy song for his return to the stage:

"After seven years, it wasn't hard to come back, it was much harder to find a song to come back with. People misinterpret my seven-year hiatus. When it comes to my musical career, there was no break, during that time I had gigs and gigs, it never stopped. Music is my only calling in life, although for me it is not a calling but something I love most in the world, which is love. I believe that my mission is to make people happy at my performances, so that they leave happy and satisfied. That's why I don't see music as a job, but as something beautiful that happens and I am grateful to God for giving me that talent and for allowing me to do what I love in life, and I think that few people in the world have that privilege," Vučetić is honest, admitting that the situation on stage sometimes makes him sad, but that still doesn't mean that he is ready to give up on his love.

"Sometimes I get angry about the state of the music scene. I feel bad that everything is like this, but I never thought about giving up on something I love the most. The only break was from that authorship and studio work, and it came about because I was skeptical about every song I was supposed to record in those seven years until this Vanja composition appeared that won me over at first," he adds.

He doesn't hide the fact that it wasn't easy to return to the studio after such a long break, so recording the song "Dobro je" was accompanied by a little nervousness.

"There was a little bit of nervousness. However, in those seven years I never entered the studio. It was that positive nervousness, a kind of adrenaline. When you know that you are recording and creating something new, you think about whether it will be good enough, and it should be better than it used to be, because in seven years you are more mature, older, more experienced, you know what you want, and even more what you don't want. That's why there was nervousness, the positive kind. In the end, judging by all the reactions and comments, everything turned out well. I am very grateful to all the people for these reactions, a big thank you indeed," says Vučetić.

The break did not affect his perception of music. It has remained his greatest love for the past seven years, and he says he has never considered giving up.

"Every era brings its own something and its own music and its own type of art that different generations listen to. I have never planned to adapt to something to record something that is popular, nor will I ever. I have my own direction. I record what I like, because if I do it honestly and I like it, the audience will recognize it. If I am being dishonest with myself and doing something to please others, then I shouldn't even be doing it. I don't adapt to trends, genres, we just adapt in terms of arrangements and that's right and that's what everyone should do. So why is technology advancing if we're not going to use it," he asks.

The song "Dobro je" won him over primarily because of the lyrics written by Radovanović. They say that one must identify with the song in order for the singer to be able to present it in the right way, and Davor does not hide his favorite line from it:

"I identify with the verse 'nothing is good halfway'. In life, I'm a supporter of that - it's either all or nothing. Either you're 100 percent into something or you're not at all. If I had to choose one verse from Vanja's beautiful text, then it would definitely be that moment. I'm like that in everything, in work, in emotional and friendly relationships, I simply don't know about superficiality. Either you give it your all or don't get involved and get involved in something. Everything has to be from the heart and with your whole being," believes Vučetić.

Last year, two festivals were launched, and as someone who started his career at such events, he does not hide that he would love to participate in one of them. The festivals were certainly the initiators of the Montenegrin music scene in particular, and Davor views them as beautiful experiences.

"I have a lot of festival performances behind me and I have fond memories of them. I remember when I had to participate in Sunčane skale, I think it was in 2009, no one was happier than me then. Euphoria kept me going for three months. I was happy that I got the opportunity to meet the biggest regional stars," he recalls how it used to be and adds:

"I hope the festival returns in a big way, but I think that the kind of euphoria that reigned around Skala and Pjesma Mediterana will never return. Of course, it is useful that festivals exist and that I support every possible way of promoting songs, musicians and their work in general, and that it is of high quality. I would like to be a participant in them myself. Why not."

Now that he is "back on the scene", Vučetić has no plans to stop, so he has already made plans for his next single, which the audience, the "Vijesti" interviewee hopes, will have the opportunity to hear soon.

"I already have a new song in the pipeline. All that's left is for the copyright to be regulated and then we'll start implementing it. I hope it'll be in two or three months at the latest. It'll be a big and beautiful project. I wouldn't reveal anything more about it because first we need to finish some legal and formal things, and only then can we get started. I believe it will be quick and that there won't be any more breaks like this. That everything will now take its course as it should. Once again, thank you to everyone for the nice reactions and to those who have been a part of this journey, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me all this time," concludes Vučetić.
