Competition announced for the first “Cattaro Junior”

The competition for the first "Cattaro Junior" festival has been announced and will last until April 15, 2025. It is a unique musical and theatrical event for children aged five to 12 of an international character that will be held on June 6, 2025 in the hall of the "Nikola Đurković" Cultural Center in Kotor.

The festival organizers from the NGO "AD Infinitum" are confident that "Cattaro Junior" will bring together the most talented young performers and authors from Montenegro and the region.

The event will provide children with the opportunity to showcase their vocal, stage and creative abilities, through working with experienced producers and composers.

15 competitors will perform at the festival, and awards will be given for the best interpretation in two age categories (five to nine, and 10 to 12 years old), best composition, arrangement, text, as well as awards from the children's and professional jury for the best young author.

Composers, songwriters and arrangers from Montenegro and the region have the right to participate, the songs must be original and have not been previously performed in public, while the themes must be adapted to children's age and must not last longer than 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

In addition to being dedicated to the artistic development and affirmation of young talents, the "Cattaro Junior" festival simultaneously promotes Kotor, its rich cultural heritage, Montenegro, tradition, tourism and the importance of music education.

Special emphasis is placed on inclusion, so children from the "Mladost" Public Institution in Bijela, as well as from the Egyptian and Roma communities, will participate in the festival choir.

The festival will host eminent guests and jury members from the region, and the guest of honor will be a representative of the prestigious Italian children's music festival. Zecchino d'Oro from Bologna.
