"Magic in today's karst", that's how the audience described the new single Nevene Božović "How I Live" which the musician released about ten days ago.
With this song, Nevena took listeners back to a good time when equal attention was paid to the melody, arrangement, and the message the song carries through the lyrics.
They were in charge of the music. Slavko Milovanović i Mladen Stojanović, while Milovanović was helped with the text Vlade Danilovic, and the arrangement is entrusted Mahir SarihodžićThe song received great reviews, and Nevena Božović revealed in an interview with "Vijesti" how she herself reacted when she first heard it:
"I've been wanting a song like this, exactly that nostalgic melody that I would say most people feel and love. We spontaneously came up with the idea of collaborating and I heard his specific sound in this track that was created a few months later. The reactions are wonderful and I believe the song will find its way in today's world of music."
Although the arrangement is not reminiscent, when it comes to the melody, the song "Kako živim" has a hint of sevdah.
"The melody is like that, it has it, so with my singing I just managed to adapt and accompany the story that is heard in itself," emphasizes Božović, who, thanks to her timbre and vocal abilities, can sing whatever she wants. Since she herself deals with the genre of commercial music, she also talked about how difficult it is to find a good and meaningful song, not only lyrically but also musically, because not everything that is virtuosic is receptive to the ear:
"It's always hard to find the right song in this time where I would say there's a real lack of creativity. I write alone, but I also collaborate with numerous colleagues, so that I can make the right choice for myself, so that I can enjoy it, but also so that I still have some continuity."

The song "Kako živim" was released on Women's Day, but it's not just dedicated to women. Božović is sure that the stronger sex will find something to like in it as well.
"In the sea of events, I chose that date as a beautiful, symbolic one, since it's already in March, let it be the 8th. There are many people who find themselves in the song, judging by the numerous comments. That's what I wanted, in fact, that's how I experienced this song. It doesn't necessarily have to have a love context, on the contrary, nostalgia and missing are an integral part of life, and I see that the song is largely understood that way," the interviewee of "Vijesti" points out.
What this song also brought was a collaboration with Vlatko Stefanovski which Božović is particularly proud of.
"Last summer in Montenegro, we came up with the idea of collaborating, and I was just waiting for the right song to make it happen. It's an honor and a pleasure to work with Vlatko Stefanovski," emphasizes the musician, who had a duet with him a little less than a year ago. Boris Režak, yet Igor Simić, and reveals whether these collaborations are an announcement of a project that will mark the collaborations:

"I can boast of spontaneous, but wonderful collaborations, which, fortunately for me, are primarily with wonderful people, and then with top male performers from this area. I have no plans when it comes to duets, I'm currently working on new songs," said Božović, whose beginnings are linked to festivals and the period when pop music still held primacy. Today, those true pop songs are a rarity, and most of her colleagues have given in to commercialism in which there are no clear boundaries between genres. But Nevena has never experimented too much with sound so far, she has stuck to pop, while the arrangements are those that adapt to world production. She claims that it is not difficult to have a balance because she does what she loves.
"I don't see any other way to be honest about what I do, and that's my primary concern when I'm creating music. I enjoy many genres, so I haven't limited myself in that sense, but rather listen to what I like in the moment and explore. What's important is to have a critical attitude as a musician, then even if a breakthrough happens, it will never be a mistake, but just an idea and a moment of new inspiration as well as an escape from monotony," she advises.
