The winners of the second season of the "As a Young Man, I Need a Chance Now" competition are "Collective 0" who will perform at Bedem Fest and "Quiet Dogs" who will appear at this year's Lake Fest.
"A very good and positive thing happened and some new inspiration was created. I congratulate the bands on their energy and gigs, as well as all the registered bands that did not qualify for the super finals. We are sure that they are also winners in a way. By talking to people from the Tourist Organization and other partners in the coming period, we will find ways for their further promotion and affirmation. Thank you all, see you at Lake Fest", said one of the Lake Fest organizers, Peđa Zečević.
According to the words Jovo Čeprnić, from the band "Kolektiv 0", was too loud, full of young people, lots of spotlights, microphones, noise and everything that made the competition special and consistent with the impression that it was a great gig and a super finale to remember.
"Five songs seemed so short, yet so inspiring that it motivated us and the brothers and sisters from 'Petrikor 1858', 'Paradigma' and other bands to work even harder on them, regardless of the outcome. We behaved in such a way that there was no competition, not even close to competition, but a collective desire to make the most sincere contribution to the Montenegrin music scene and to say loudly that it is by no means asleep. It is opening its eyes. It is waking up. We are getting ready for Bedem Fest, and those who come to follow the program should be ready," said Čeprnić.
The band "Quiet Dogs" emphasized that they continue to work hard.
"We create, we enjoy playing, we dream beautiful dreams, we make plans. There are also our loyal fans who follow us everywhere. We young people need things like this to continue our journey, waiting for the next opportunities. Our performance at Lake Fest will be noisy and energetic," said "Quiet Dogs".
Petar Šundić, the organizer of the Bedem Fest, reminded that Nikšić is a candidate for UNESCO City of Music, as well as for the European Capital of Culture in 2030, and that he believes in winning the aforementioned title.
"Together we are building the foundations of an open Nikšić with a renewed alternative young rock scene, so linking Lake and Bedem Fests inspired by the mission of reviving young bands and live gigs is the right move and a great thing at a crucial moment. Since the announcement of the competition symbolically named 'As a young person, I need a chance now', including the two super final nights, we have witnessed that young people and bands are crying out for opportunities just like the audience, eager for socializing and live gigs. We are talking about very talented authors and genre-diverse bands and gigs, thanks to which an 'explosion' of positive and creative energy has been launched, which will only culminate in the performances of the winning bands at Lake and Bedem Fests. We must not stop, we have a big job ahead of us in order to become a solid support for young bands and young people in their lives, creating and developing their further careers. We invite young people to continue moving forward together," emphasized Šundić.
For the second season of the competition "As a young man, I need a chance now", 11 bands applied: "Raw", "O Konrads band", "Rupa u tepihu", "Dva egora band", "Mali demon", "Petrikor 1858", "Paradigma", "Kolektov 0", "Infantry", "Na brzaka" and "Quiet dogs".
