After a ten-year break, Montenegro is returning to another music competition, and it's the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Thus, Montenegro will have a representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia, at the end of the year, more precisely on December 13th, it was announced on the portal of the Radio and Television of Montenegro.

The 2025 European Children's Song Contest will be held at the Olympic Palace in Tbilisi and hosted by the Georgian Public Broadcasting Service. Georgia is the host this year thanks to the victory of their representative Andria Putkaradze in Madrid last year.

This will be the fourth time that Georgia has organized the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, RTCG reminds.

"So far, 12 countries have confirmed their participation, while the final list of participants is expected in the coming period," the Public Service Broadcasting added.

"The voting system remains combined - 50 percent of the total score will be made up of votes from expert juries from each country, and 50 percent will be determined by online voting from audiences around the world. Viewers will be able to vote for their three favorite songs, including the opportunity to vote for their country's representative," the announcement explains.

Montenegro previously participated in this competition in 2014 and 2015, and as the Public Service Broadcasting points out, "the return represents a new opportunity for the affirmation of young talents and the promotion of Montenegrin music on the international stage."

Montenegro's representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 was Jana Mirković, who performed the song "Oluja" and took 13th place in the competition.

Before her, at the same event, Montenegro was represented by Maša Vujadinović and Lejla Vulić with a duet called “Be a child for a day.” At the end of the competition, they took 14th place thanks to the votes of the audience and the jury.

In both 2014 and 2015, representatives were selected by the Public Service Broadcasting Service, and it is currently unknown whether the Montenegrin representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Georgia will be selected in the same way or whether an internal competition will be organized.
