The organizers of the Bedem Fest, which will be held at the Nikšić Fortress from August 21st to 23rd, announced that, as an overture to the 16th edition of the festival, the Machina collective and the Mučin band will perform on August 12th.
"Bedem Fest continues with surprises, this time offering the audience the privilege of enjoying an exclusive concert by the Machina collective. On the small stage of the summer stage at the fortress, as a segment of the project 'Fortress in the rhythm and spirit of Bedem Fest' which is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro and represents a continuation of the warm-up for Bedem Fest, as part of the regional tour Folk:tour. The band Machina will present its rich creative opus for the first time in Montenegro. The Machina collective returns beyond the digital - to the space between the real and the symbolic", says the statement signed by the director of Bedem Fest, Petar Šundić.
As he explained, Folk:Tour will represent the audience's first direct contact with the new material.
"But also a kind of testing ground where the frequencies from the Folklor album enter a physical, shared resonance for the first time. Each location has been carefully chosen as an energy portal, and attendance is recommended only to those ready to listen beyond the sound. These are not performances. These are calls for inner mobilization. Presence can cause altered states of perception, identity, and spiritual orientation," say the Machina collective.
The experimental project Machina was founded in 2004 in Leipzig, which, according to its members, represents "a synthesis of different musical elements and styles, and at the same time a conscious rejection of being tied to one musical direction."
"The main goal is to put the listener in an awkward position in which they must actively participate. Machina does not serve up a finished product, but rather asks questions and conveys (mis)information."
"We will open the warm-up for Bedem Fest with the premiere concert of the newly formed band Mučin, consisting of Veljko Vučurović (bass guitar), Đorđije Njunjić (drum) and Nemanja Grbović (vocals, guitar). Created by bringing together three interesting creative personalities, the band Mučin brings a real refreshment to the Montenegrin music scene, which, with its fusion of Oi! style and melancholic post-punk, wants to set new rules in music. The concert at Bedem as part of the warm-up for Bedem fest will be an opportunity to hear live performances of songs for the first time before the release of the EP, which is expected on August 14th for the Guenger Records label from Zagreb. The opening single 'All meaninglessness is its existence', accompanied by a video, has already caused fantastic reactions, so after Bedem, the band is expecting an interesting tour in the region," Šundić pointed out.
The artists announced so far who will perform at Bedem Fest are Magnifico, Vampiri and E Play.
