The MonteVox choir from Podgorica, which has only existed for half a year, presented its first song and video - a cover of the song "Crna Goro, zemljo mila" by Božidar Ivanišević.
The song premiered today, on the occasion of July 13th, the Statehood Day of Montenegro.
The arrangement was signed by Aleksandar Saša Gajić, and the video was shot in Cetinje.
"With this song, the choir members want to contribute to the preservation of the musical heritage of Montenegro, adapted to contemporary performing expression. Our story began from a love of music and joint creation. MonteVox is a young choir that cultivates contemporary choral expression through pop, rock and modern hits, in polyphony, a cappella or with a matrix. We believe in music that unites, moves and leaves a mark," MonteVox announced.
The song 'Crna Goro, zemło mila' was chosen as a symbolic beginning of the choir's work and a gift to its country.
"We didn't choose the song based on its popularity, but rather on the meaning it carries. We wanted to bring to life, in our own way, a melody that belongs to all of us," said choir manager and conductor Ivana Vlajnić.
With this announcement, the choir announces the continuation of work on projects that combine tradition, contemporary sound, and a strong performing identity.
On July 19th, at the Third Meeting of Choirs in Cetinje, the MonteVox Choir will perform the song "Crna Goro, zemljo mila" live for the first time.
