After an exciting zero day where the audience was warmed up by KKN, Kuku$, Skroz and Kawasaki 3P on the stage in the camp, the official start of the eleventh edition of OK Fest was marked yesterday with a rich program and a great atmosphere at Tjentište. Visitors, many of whom arrived the day before, were ready for a day full of good sound and a great time.
Fans of electronic music could enjoy themselves on the Summer Stage from noon, where they were welcomed by the festival's resident DJ and DJ PEZNT, while the real party started around 14 p.m. on the OK stage in the camp. The festival energy was raised there by local favorites - the band Helem Nejse. Gagara from Helem Nejse confirmed to Vijesti after the performance that Tjentište is one of the most beautiful locations in the region.
"This is our second time at Ok Fest. The first time we played was six years ago and it was a really nice feeling to be back at this magical place. Last time we played on the Main Stage and now we were on this smaller stage where there is a campfire that has been sleeping in tents for three days. The energy was incredible, I don't remember feeling this good. Even though it was hot, the sun was shining the whole time we were on stage, we endured it because it was really good," said Gagara, adding that he didn't mind that they were on a smaller stage this time.
"We usually prefer this. Both the small and large stages have their charm, but the camp has a more intimate atmosphere and we are like that by nature, so it suits us better," he added. With a mix of trance mixed with pop, synth sounds, rock and the inevitable autotune, Croatian hip-hop artist Hiljson Mandela delighted the crowd, who sang every verse in unison. On the previous night, Hiljson Mandela performed with his band Kuku$.
"Something similar to this but not at this level and not in this kind of nature is the Feragosto jam held in Croatia. This is special because as we drove to Tjentište as we went deeper and deeper into the forest, the nature was truly beautiful. It was a special feeling, a special atmosphere and I'm glad I came not only alone but also with the band," said Hiljson Mandela. The camp program ended with an explosive performance by provocative veterans Let 3, who, as befits their style, appeared in unusual costumes and once again showed why they are a band with cult status.
The evening continued without a break. Namely, immediately after the events on the camp stage died down, the program on the main stage was opened by the band Elemental, who performed for the fourth time at OK Fest. Their recognizable mix of rap, funk and emotion ideally prepared the audience for what was to come, and the fact that they performed without the main male vocalist - Shota was not very noticeable.
"I thought it would be difficult to top the performance we had two years ago at the camp. In fact, everyone was preparing us for the camp and saying it was good, but we didn't believe it because our appointment was in the afternoon. We didn't believe that anyone would come to listen to us then. However, the team welcomed us and it was crazy. That's why I was thinking about how to top it, but it's not to praise my band, I think we raised the bar to a higher level tonight," Remi, the singer from Elemental, was certain after the performance.
Rambo Amadeus, the self-proclaimed world mega-czar, put on a performance to remember. His hits were given a new look, and the audience, in addition to dancing and singing, also had the opportunity to hear some advice, as Rambo sent engaging messages to young people throughout the concert. A particularly euphoric reaction followed during the song "Character", when the crowd chanted "pump up", which Rambo supported by simulating pumping.
The Blue Orchestra, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, also had its premiere performance at Tjentište. They united generations with their timeless hits, recalling the golden days of the regional pop-rock scene. And just as the audience and Loša were warming up, right on the song "Ako su to bile laži" (If Those Were Lies), there was a power outage that lasted more than 20 minutes. However, the audience did not let up - they spontaneously sang the band's greatest hits, creating a unique atmosphere of togetherness that this Sarajevo band promotes in their songs. When the power was finally restored, Loša and the team continued right where they left off with the last chorus of the interrupted song, and then "knocked down" the evening with "Bolje biti pijan nego star", "Kaja", "Suada". They ended the concert with the symbolic number "Odlazim", but with the promise of returning to the Sutjeska National Park.
"We are really experiencing something that we can't even explain because in recent years we have done a lot of big concerts and the audience is mostly younger, since I know if their parents recommended it, how is that? We have always been in resistance, we listened to punk while they listened to rock. Maybe there is some kind of longing for some togetherness, for some harmony, which is what Plavi Orkestar is. Some of my friends who have never listened to Plavi Orkestar, when they have been to our concerts say 'well, I know all the lyrics by heart', which means that there is some orchestra that, despite our wishes and ambitions, has remained like some DNA of some life in these areas all this time," Loša commented after the concert.
The evening was crowned with a spectacular performance by Brkov, who literally brought everyone to their feet and closed the first night of the festival in style. For the most persistent, the party continued until the early hours of the morning in the camp zone.
The festival continued today with the promotion of the band Brkovi's songbook and a party on the Sumer Stage, while the program in the camp will begin at 13.45:XNUMX PM, and Kranšvester, My Baby, Orthodox Celts will be responsible for the good atmosphere, and Ida Prester, Fun Lovin Criminals, Dubioza kolektiv and Kultur Shock will perform on the main stage.
