The song for the new season of the popular Netflix series “Wednesday,” the first episode of which will be available on the aforementioned platform today, was written by Lady Gaga. According to Variety, the singer created the track called “Dead Dance” with her collaborators, and the audience will be able to hear it only next month when the continuation of the season is available.
That Gaga would be composing the music is a logical progression considering she is also part of the cast. News of her joining the cast was confirmed in November last year, after fans massively performed the dance from the series to Gaga's 2011 song 'Bloody Mary'.
The pop star will play Rosalina Rothwood, a legendary professor at an academy specializing in the dark arts, in the series. She is expected to appear in the second half of the season, in September.
Jenna Ortega, who plays the main character in the series, spoke about her collaboration with Gaga at the SXSW festival in March:
"She's amazing. Definitely one of the most talented people I've ever worked with. It was really special to be on the same set with her and Tim Burton. They're artists that I have a lot of respect for and who are a huge inspiration to me," said Ortega, adding that Gaga is a very nice person, reserved and modest.
"I love that you never know what to expect from her, except kindness and generosity," the actress pointed out.
In addition to Gaga, the second season also stars Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Ivi Templeton i Noah Taylor. Guest appearances will also include Joanna Lumley, Thandie Newton i Haley Joel Osment.
Last month, Tim Burton announced that he would continue his collaboration with Gaga, hinting at a new joint project and revealing that they were already working on it while filming “Wednesday.” MV
