The famous group "Queen" was declared the most broadcasted in the UK within the "21st century rock" category.
According to the latest PPL list, released ahead of National Album Day on October 18, the band has amassed an incredible 400 million seconds of radio and television airplay, which is equivalent to 12 and a half years of continuous listening to their music over the course of a century. It also revealed that their most-played song was “A King Of Magic.”
"Unreal news. Keep in mind that a large part of 'Queen' songs were recorded in the 20th century. It's incredible to be on that list in the 21st century," commented the guitarist of this band Brian May.
This was also commented on by Peter Summer, CEO of the PPL organization.
"This list also shows how rock music continues to live on through the decades. I congratulate the group 'Queen' on this success at a time when we are also marking the anniversary of when their album 'A Night At The Opera' reached number one on the charts," he pointed out.
After the group "Queen", the most played bands on radio and TV stations in the UK were David Bowie, "U2", "Oasis", "Fleetwood Mac", "Stereophonics", "The Rolling Stones", "The Police", "The Killers" and "Kings Of Leon".
