Montenegrin rock band "Hannibal" recently released a new single called "U potpunom mraku" (In Complete Darkness), which can be listened to on the YouTube channel.
"Lovers of good music have received a real treat from the band Hanibal - the fifth single and video of these extraordinary creatives from Podgorica have been released, who have been diligently building their path to success with quality authorial work for the second year in a row. It is a powerful rock track 'U potpunom mraku', for which the lyrics were written by the guitarist Bećir Koljenović and co-authored the music with an arranger and keyboardist Igor Perović”, is the announcement of this single.
The song, according to the members of the band "Hannibal", talks about the delicate relationship between two young people who are searching for each other, but due to the noise of everyday life and personal fears, they fail to find each other and return to the previous feelings they had.
"That's why we sing about searching in the dark, in a setting where words have a different meaning and where we can say things we would never say in the light of day," says author Koljenović.
Like the previous songs from “Hannibal” - “Nema vjetra do sjevera”, “Čuvaj me”, “Ulicom slobode” and “Tiho, tiho”, this song was produced at the Sarajevo studio “Maximum Music”, and their regular collaborator was in charge of mixing and mastering. Dino Mangafić. Backing vocals Kristina Pavicevic sung by a Bosnian-Herzegovinian colleague Medina Turkovic.
A video was also shot for the song, which he was responsible for. Milos Sofranac which in collaboration with Lazar Kovačević also signs the editing. The video was made with the support of the Cultural and Information Center "Budo Tomović", and the main role in it, in addition to the band members, is also Andrea Rugovac.
In an interview with "Vijesti", members of "Hannibal" Pavićević (vocals), Koljenović (guitar), Perović (keyboards), Slaven Ivanović (bass guitar) and Nikola Zdravković (drums), talked about the new single, revealed what it was like to shoot the video, and also announced where the audience can hear them live in the coming period.
Koljenović, who wrote the lyrics for "In Complete Darkness", also explains what the new song "Hannibal" brings.
"The song brings us a personal and universal theme, because today we have a lot of information and distractions, we live fast, and this affects relationships between people. Each of us has experienced something like this, whether for a short or long time, because the song also talks about that moment when we take a deep breath, slow down time, without any distractions, and remind ourselves of what is essential," he said.
"We realized the song through a video where you can see two young people who are searching for each other, the faces from the song continue their search in the dark, in an environment where words take on new meaning and in which even what remains silent in the light of day can be said," Koljenović points out, while Zdravković emphasizes that they are also satisfied with the audience's reception of the song.
"It's nice to see that people liked the video and that they left positive comments. That's the biggest confirmation that we did a good job," the musician concludes.
On the other hand, Pavićević conveys the atmosphere from the filming of the video for "In Total Darkness".
"The filming went great, the atmosphere was relaxed and full of good energy. It also meant a lot to us that our friends were on set, who brought even more spontaneity and fun to the whole story. The crew was wonderfully coordinated and professional, so we filmed without pressure and really enjoyed the process," she recounts.
"Although filming a video can be demanding, for us it is always a beautiful moment when the song gets its visual stamp. Everything went with a lot of laughter, good cooperation and a great atmosphere," continues Pavićević, while her colleague Perović hints at what else the audience can expect from "Hannibal" in the future.
"Next year, we plan to complete the debut album of our small music collective and promote new songs, one of which is already ready for the studio. Also, in addition to numerous performances in clubs and concerts in squares, we are planning a regional musical excursion, but more details about that will be announced when everything is agreed and realized," he says.
However, Ivanovic could already announce some of the scheduled performances.
"December is a 'full month' - we have planned and scheduled everything. We start with a concert in Kotor, where we will be the opening act." Boris Režak", then we perform in Podgorica, at the Munich Marienplatz Crib and Beer, and there is also our favorite Podgorica New Year's Market. Otherwise, we perform all our performances with a lot of energy, regardless of whether it is a club or we are the opening act for famous bands from the region," he pointed out.
When asked how much more demanding it is to perform outdoors during the New Year holidays, when temperatures are lower, Ivanovic says:
“A big stage is a special feeling - when you have a lot of people singing with you and sharing your energy. Then every note is as big as a house and you don't even mind the cold weather, because you have a wonderful audience that takes away all the cold.”
"We realized the song through a video where you can see two young people who are searching for each other, the faces from the song continue their search in the dark, in an environment where words take on new meaning and in which even what remains silent in the light of day can be spoken," Koljenović points out.
"Next year, we plan to complete the debut album of our small musical collective and promote new songs, one of which is already ready for the studio," Perović hints.
