Montenegrin musician Igor Đurović, in an interview for "Vijesti", announced two new songs that he will present tomorrow, which he describes as "songs for celebrations and weddings". The names of the songs are "Brat mi javlja da se ženi" (Brother tells me he's getting married) and "Veseli se sestro, veseli se zete" (Rejoice sister, rejoice son-in-law) and after being presented on radio and television stations, they will also be available on the YouTube platform.
"These two new songs that I want to present are 'Brat mi javlja da se ženi' and 'Veseli se sestro, veseli se zete'. The author of the lyrics is my new collaborator, the prolific songwriter Danko Obradović. The songs were recorded in the studio of Predrag Peđo Nedeljković, who also arranged them, and I composed the music. We had the help of dear fellow instrumentalists from Montenegro and the region who played the instruments to make the song sound more beautiful and richer," explained Đurović, who added that the aforementioned songs are also planned to be adapted for film.
"After the promotion on the Public Service, the songs will be posted on the music platform YouTube, played on radio stations, and after professional videos are made, for which we are waiting for better weather and meteorological conditions that allow recording outside the studio, I will again be a guest on various television stations and present them in that way," the musician emphasized.
When asked why he decided to release both songs on the same day, the interviewee for "Vijesti" said that they have similar themes.
"Both songs have similar themes, although they are rhythmically different. One is dedicated to the love and happiness a brother feels for his brother who is getting married, and the other to a sister, her family, and her happiness when she marries her daughter," he describes.
"I didn't want to separate those family emotions, but I think it's interesting that the audience hears both songs on the same day. Although I know it's strange and that singers usually try to appear on television and in other media as often as possible presenting one song at a time, I stick to some old principles when entire music releases, CDs or LPs with 8 or more songs at once, were presented on the same day," continues Đurović.
The musician explains, given that the songs are intended mostly for celebrations such as weddings, what is needed for such tracks to appeal to the audience and become popular and listened to precisely on such occasions.
"In my opinion, songs of this kind must be cheerful, maintain a good mood and reflect the feelings of those present at the celebration, whether they are close family members, relatives, godparents, friends or just guests. My guiding principle has always been the song that my late father Ljubomir Đurović recorded back in 1977, 'Svat do svata, kum do kuma', and with it he won at the then prestigious Titogradsko proljeće '77 festival," he recalls.
"The song, like most of his other songs, has remained alive among the audience and there is not a single wedding party where this and many more of his songs are not sung. I hope that these two of my songs will also find their way to listeners and will be popular at wedding parties for a long time to come, where I am often present as a singer, so I will do my best to promote them there as well," says Đurović, and finally reveals his plans after the promotion of the songs.
"My further plans are related to performances, of which I have plenty, traveling and touring the region and abroad, creating and promoting new songs... I also hope to release a CD, which I have been waiting for for a long time, but as a consolation, it will also contain these two new songs, and I hope maybe some more, beautiful and high-quality ones," the musician hinted.
