Former member of the band Destiny's Child Kelly Rowland He can hardly believe that 25 years have passed since the release of the song "Survivor", one of the biggest hits of the aforementioned trio.
She and Method Man They appeared together on Entertainment Tonight to ask each other questions and promote their new film, “Relationship Goals.” Along the way, they shared some fun anecdotes from their careers.
During the interview, Rowland revealed a previously unknown detail from the filming of the video for "Survivor," the title song from Destiny's Child's third album.
"A helicopter comes over the water, getting closer and closer, and we're screaming, 'Help us, we're lost! My wig flew off, flew across the sandy beach. I felt all that wind and, of course, the wig fell off my head and ended up somewhere on the beach. Someone took it, it's gone," Rowland laughed, while Method Man said he would like to see the footage, to which the actress and singer added:
"Sony still has that footage somewhere."
The song "Survivor" remained one of Destiny's Child's most recognizable hits and earned them awards at the 44th Grammy Awards in 2002. Namely, thanks to the aforementioned song, this trio celebrated in the category of Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and the album Survivor was nominated for Best R&B Album.
Destiny's Child, which included Beyoncé and Michelle Williams alongside Rowland, reunited for the last time in July 2025 for the final performance of Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter tour. Williams revealed that the decision to reunite was "fantastic and spontaneous" as they simply decided to perform together again.
Before that, the trio had already come together at the 2018 Coachella festival, when they also supported Beyonce as the headliner.
Destiny's Child formed in Houston in the early 1990s, and their album Survivor was released in 2001 and quickly became a global hit, cementing the group's status as one of the most influential in R&B and pop music of the period.
