The band Foo Fighters has released snippets of new songs from what is likely to be their upcoming album on their official website.
Dave Grohl and the members of this band have been hinting at a new album for several months now, stating that the material is complete, and releasing teasers from time to time.
Now it seems like the release date is very close, considering they've created an interactive page on their website with snippets of the new material.
The homepage looks like a bedroom, with a guitar in the corner, a pile of dirty clothes on the floor, CDs and photos and posters of the Foo Fighters. When you click on one of the photos, you can hear 10 seconds of previously unreleased songs.
The band released their last album, "But Here We Are," in 2023 as a farewell to their drummer Taylor Hocking, who passed away at the age of 50.
Since then, Foo Fighters have released “Today's Song” to mark the 30th anniversary of the band's founding, and then “Asking For A Friend,” their latest single.
Meanwhile, drummer Josh Freeze, in an interview with Modern Drummer, reflected on his time as a member of Foo Fighters, emphasizing that “they shouldn’t feel sorry for him.” Namely, the members of this band announced in May last year that Freeze was no longer a member, to which the musician commented that he was “shocked and disappointed.”
He joined the Foo Fighters in 2023 after the sudden death of Hawkins, and was then replaced by Ilan Rubin, former drummer for Nine Inch Nails.
"I have a few theories, but I can't really talk about them right now. I really enjoyed those two years with the guys, they were good to me... until they stopped being good to me," the drummer told the magazine.
"I loved playing with them. I loved Dave as a frontman. I honestly have a lot of respect for him, first as a drummer, and then everything else... To me, he's a drummer first, and everything else is secondary. I listened to all the great recordings he made on drums, more than I listened to Foo Fighters music. It was cool to be in a band whose leader is a phenomenal drummer that you respect," Friz added.
After being kicked out of the Foo Fighters, Friz returned to Weezer, with whom he collaborated from 1997 to 2012.
