The biggest music competition in Europe, the Eurovision Song Contest, begins tonight in Vienna, and Montenegro will be represented at this year's edition by Tamara Živković.

Tamara will attempt to qualify for the final of the 70th Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Nova zora", and will perform at number eight.

The evening in the Vienna hall "Štathala" will be opened by a representative of Moldova, and after him the audience will have the opportunity to hear, among 15 compositions, those from Sweden, Croatia, Greece, Portugal, Georgia and Finland. After Tamara's "Nova zora", competitors from Estonia, Israel, Belgium, Lithuania, San Marino, Poland will also present their songs, while the competition part will be closed by the band Lavina from Serbia.

The top ten will secure a place in the grand finale based on votes from the audience and an expert jury.

During the first semi-final, songs from two direct finalists will be performed live, representing Italy, represented by Sal Da Vinci with the song "Per sempre sì", and Germany, represented by Sara Engels with the song "Fire".

The show part of the program will also feature legendary singer Viki Leandros, whose performance represents a kind of homage to the celebration of the seven decades-long history of the Eurovision Song Contest.

"Everyone in the team believes in 'New Dawn' and in the emotion we bring to the stage. We worked hard, we put our all into this project and I hope the audience will feel it. After 11 years it would be wonderful for Montenegro to be in the Eurovision final again and I believe we have reason to hope for a good result," Tamara Živković previously told "Vijesti".

A total of 35 countries will participate in this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Due to Israel's performance at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest, Slovenia, Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland and Iceland withdrew from the competition.

The second semi-final night is scheduled for May 14th, and the audience will have the opportunity to hear representatives from Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Romania, Luxembourg, the Czech Republic, Armenia, Switzerland, Cyprus, Latvia, Denmark, Australia, Ukraine, Albania, Malta and Norway.

The final is scheduled for May 16.
