Bulgaria's representative at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, Dara, achieved a historic success for her country and won the 70th edition of the competition in Vienna. With the song "Banagaranga", she won the hearts of the European audience and the jury.
She received 204 points from juries from 35 countries, while she received 312 from the audience.
Dara has made her mark on the stage through energetic dance and pop songs, and is recognizable for her modern production and pronounced stage identity. Her interpretation and dynamic performance further enhanced the impression of the song, which combined club energy and contemporary pop sound.
With this victory, Bulgaria recorded its first triumph in Eurovision history, making "Banagaranga" one of the songs that will remain remembered in the history of the competition.
Second place was won by Israel.
The final of the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna was opened by Denmark's representative Soren Torpegaard Lund with the song "For vi gar hjem", followed by performances by representatives of Germany and Belgium.
The performance of the Israeli contestant, Noam Betan, who performed the song "Michelle" in French, was marked by whistles and shouts of "genocide", while the Albanian Alice dedicated his ballad "Nan" to mothers, in which he focused on a personal story and emotion through simple stage expression.
After the representatives of Ukraine, Australia and Greece, the audience in the Štathala Hall had the opportunity to hear the representatives of Serbia, the group Lavina.
With the song "Kraj mene", they brought a dark and energetic performance that provoked a strong reaction from the audience and was one of the most memorable moments of the evening.
After that, the program was continued by Malta, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, while Croatia, with the group Lelek and the song "Andromeda", was greeted with one of the loudest applauses in the hall and a performance that lifted the atmosphere in the final.
The final also featured songs from representatives of the United Kingdom, France, Moldova, Finland, Poland, Lithuania, Sweden and Cyprus, and a message of long-lasting love and marriage was heard from Italy's representative Sal Da Vinci thanks to the song "Per Sempre Si".
Incidentally, Sal dedicated this song to his wife and to celebrate their long marriage, giving his performance a personal touch.
The finale was marked by a harder sound brought to the stage by the representatives of Norway and Romania, and the hosts, COSMÓ, officially lowered the flag for the competition part with the song "Tanzschein".
The show part of the program featured, among others, Lordi, Verka Serduchka, Il Volo, Alexander Rybak, Ruslana, Kristian Kostov, Cesár Sampson, Parov Stelar and Erika Vikman, performing some of the biggest hits of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Montenegro was represented this year by Tamara Živković with the song "Nova zora", who failed to qualify for the finals of this year's competition.
