After a decades-long career and work with the band The Who, Pete Townshend decided to leave part of his musical legacy to the company "Primary Wave", which took over the rights to his name, image and part of his music catalog.
According to world media, the agreement also includes certain publishing rights that were previously under the control of the company "Spirit Music", which purchased part of his catalog for more than $100 million in 2017.
Although financial details of the new agreement have not been disclosed, it is expected that "Primary Wave" will use Townshend's archive for new reissues, documentary projects, film and television dubbing, as well as various adaptations related to the music of The Who.
The cult projects "Tommy" and "Quadrophenia" are also mentioned again, which have previously received film, theatrical and other interpretations.
"Working with Primary Wave at this stage in my life is a real pleasure. Their energy is inspiring and keeps me going," said Pete Townshend.
The musician also emphasized that the collaboration with Roger Daltrey and The Who is not over yet, adding that they are still trying to offer the audience "something special".
