Taylor Swift releases song for 'Toy Story 5'

American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift today released a new song, "I Knew It, I Knew It," which she wrote for the animated film "Toy Story 5."

The song represents Swift's return to her musical beginnings in country music.

"Writing this song felt like a musical departure and a homecoming at the same time," the singer wrote on Instagram alongside an old childhood home video of herself wearing clothes that closely resembled the character Jessie from the "Toy Story" series, including red cowboy boots.

"Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge, but it felt completely natural at the same time. And as a kid who has loved 'Toy Story' since she was five years old... this is an adventure I plan to be on - forever and ever," she added.

This isn't the first time Swift has written a song for a film. Her most recent film song before this was "Carolina" for the film adaptation of the novel "Where the Crawdads Sing," aka the movie "Where the Crawdads Sing."

Among her more famous songs for films are "Crazier" and "You Can Always Find Your Way Back Home" for "Hannah Montana: The Movie", "Today Was a Fairytale" for "Valentine's Day", in which she starred alongside her then-boyfriend Taylor Lautner, and "Eyes Open" and "Safe & Sound" for the "The Hunger Games" film series.

Swift wrote the new song with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, and thanked director Andrew Stanton for "imagining it for this project," as well as composer Randy Newman for, as she put it, "the beautiful sonic tapestry of songs and music that he has painstakingly crafted over the years."

"We wrote this song with a lot of love for the characters who made us laugh, helped us learn life lessons, and encouraged us to think outside the confines of our own backyards throughout our childhood," Swift wrote.
