The second edition of the International Children's Music Festival "Cattaro Junior" was held last night at the "Nikola Đurković" Cultural Center in Kotor, and the grand prix, according to the decision of the expert and children's jury, was won by the team behind the song "Kotore moj grade dragi", which is the performer Avigeja Ava Matković, songwriter Darko Perić, composer Marko Prentić and arranger Božidar Bole Martinović.
The award for best lyrics went to Jelena Božović for "Happy Song" sung by Lucija Saulačić.
The winner of the award for best arrangement is Boris Vuksanović for the song "Nek se samo ljubav šeta" performed by Greta Petrović.
The award for interpretation in the 6 to 9 year old category was won by Danaya Aleksandrova from Bulgaria for her performance of the song "Dumi navreme", and the award for interpretation in the 10 to 12 year old category was won by Dunja Jovanović for singing the song "Naopačke".
The award for best stage performance went to Ena Maslać from Croatia for the song "Vještica". The jury's award for the best young author went to Sara Velimirović for the song "Kada okicama škljocnem".
The organizer's award for young author was presented to Uroš Milačić, who wrote the lyrics and music for the song "Vjerujem" for his sister Dunja.
The expert jury consisted of Tihomir Preradović (jury president), Marjan Kataroski, Branko Vuković, Branka Banović and Stevan Faddy.
"The hosts were Davor Dragojević and Đurđa Vukanić, and a wonderful gesture was made when Dragojević addressed the participants in their own language, from Bulgarian, Hungarian to Albanian," the organization pointed out.
"This was also an evening of humanity. Everyone who bought a ticket, and the hall was full, contributed wholeheartedly to those who need help the most, because all proceeds from sales were intended for the 'Be Humane' Foundation," the statement said, adding that the night was completed by special guests Nikolija Pandurica, Milica Cvijetić, Anđelina Milović and the Diva dance group from Podgorica.
"A special artistic segment was the concert and stage choir of Cattaro Junior, which brought together children from the School for Primary and Secondary Music Education 'Vida Matjan' Kotor, members of the Serbian Singing Society 'Jedinstvo' from Kotor, students of the Respira Arts School from Podgorica and the Public Institution of Music School Tivat. All of this under the conductorship of Master Jerina Knežević," the statement added.
The festival was realized with the support of the Municipality of Kotor, the Secretariat for Culture and Sports, the Kotor Tourist Organization, the Nikola Đurković Cultural Center, the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro, and numerous friends and partners.
The organizer of the International Music Festival "Cattaro Junior" was the NGO "Ad Infinitum".
Advisor for Film and Theater Activities at the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro, Ognjen Damjanović, emphasized that this is an event that, for the second year in a row, confirms the importance of creativity for children and youth in the field of music and music-theater activities.
"It is of particular importance that, precisely in Kotor, a city of rich cultural heritage and strong international identity, children and young performers from different countries gather, bringing with them talent, creativity and the desire to build new friendships and mutual understanding through music. That is why the Cattaro Junior event is much more than an opportunity to present musical abilities. As a significant platform for the development of young talents, the affirmation of creativity for children and youth and the strengthening of international cultural cooperation, this festival provides a valuable contribution to music and music-scenery activities for the youngest, creating a stimulating environment for artistic expression, audience development and the participation of children and youth in culture," said Damjanović.
