Trio Ardor performs in Spain

The chamber ensemble Trio Ardor, consisting of professors from the Academy of Music, flutist Žana Lekić, pianist Nataša Popović and cellist Mladen Popović, will perform at the Compas Hall in Vigo, Spain, as part of their summer tour, with the distinguished professor Fenanda Barreira Rana, a lecturer at the National Conservatory in Vigo.

"The program will feature works by Spanish and Montenegrin composers, Juan Duran, Salvador Brotons, Octavio Vasquez, Senad Gačević, Slobodanka-Bobana Dabović Ðurić, as well as Mladen Popović. Some compositions will have their premiere performance in Spain, which means that Trio Ardor continues to preserve the musical heritage of this region and promote Montenegrin contemporary creativity," the statement says.

Žana Lekić is a full professor at the Music Academy in Cetinje, she graduated in 2000 in the class of Prof. Ljubiša Jovanović, and received her master's degree in 2003. She began her teaching career in 2000 at the Music Academy, and at the same time she is engaged in pedagogical work at the "Vida Matjan" schools in Kotor, at the music school in Bijelo Polje, "Dara Čokorilo" in Nikšić, and at the "Savo Popović" Music School in Cetinje she founded the first flute class in 2006.

Nataša Popović graduated in piano from the Academy of Music in Podgorica in 1995 in the class of Prof. Vladimir Bočkarjov. During her studies, she was awarded the “Plaque” of the University of Montenegro, as well as the “December Award” in the field of art. She completed her specialist studies in Chamber Music at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of Prof. Uroš Pešić, and her master’s studies in Chamber Music at the Academy of Music in Cetinje in the class of Prof. Čedomir Nikolić.

Mladen Popović graduated from the Academy of Music in Podgorica, in the class of Prof. Jurij Sotnjičuk. He is one of the founders of the trio “Camerata Montenegrina” in 1995, with which he had a large number of performances at eminent national and international festivals. Popović continued his training in the field of chamber music at specialist studies in Belgrade at the Faculty of Music in the class of Prof. Uroš Pešić, and he obtained his master's degree in the string department, cello major, in 2003 at the Academy of Music in Cetinje.
