Mick Jagger has spoken about the possibility of a new Rolling Stones tour being announced, saying he hopes to hold several concerts next year, reports NME magazine.
The comments come as the legendary rock band prepares to release their 25th studio album, "Foreign Tongues," which is due out July 10th on Polydor and Universal Music Group.
The album will be a follow-up to 2024's "Hackney Diamonds." The full tracklist was released last month, and track titles have appeared on streaming platforms in various foreign languages. The news of the album comes shortly after the band dampened fans' hopes of a new tour soon.
Jagger and his bandmates last performed during the American leg of the "Hackney Diamonds" tour in 2024. That tour sold nearly a million tickets across 20 shows and generated an estimated revenue of $235 million, making it the sixth-highest-grossing music tour of the year.
A year later, the band announced that it had canceled a planned stadium tour of Europe in 2026 because Keith Richards could not "commit" to the project.
However, since then, some band members have said that there is still a possibility of new performances. Jagger recently said that he "can't wait" to get back on the road with the band, while Richards himself hinted that they could announce a number of concerts during 2027.
In a new interview for NBC's Today program's Sunday Sitdown, Jagger spoke again about the new album and once again expressed his desire to return to tour with The Rolling Stones.
"I would love to. I really want to... and I'm ready to go," he replied when asked if the band planned to announce new concert dates.
He also hinted that fans may not have to wait long to see them live again. While the tour is not planned for 2026, the band members are already talking about performances in 2027.
"I don't think we'll be holding concerts this year, but I hope we'll perform next year," the musician said.
