Montenegrin rapper Marko Lubarda, known as Random, together with the production tandem Knowhere2run consisting of Todor Tadić and Marko Ćaćić, has released a new album "Izabrani ljekar".
This is their sixth joint project in the last five years.
After the albums "Eo viđi", "Origano" and the EP releases "Knowhere2Random", "Pomet" and "Nagarigagarema", this Podgorica-based author brings a conceptually different release.
On his new album, Random talks about the problems of contemporary society through the character of an arrogant, corrupt and hedonistic general practitioner.
Through 13 tracks, in the form of a kind of musical monodrama, the rapper deals with the themes of the collapse of the value system, healthcare, law, culture and education, pointing out the gap between the potential of society and its reality. The album has explicit content and is not intended for a younger audience.
"This project is different from anything I've done before. I wanted to make a story, not just a collection of poems. The character of the chosen doctor served as a mirror for me of the society we live in - someone who exploits systemic weaknesses for personal gain, while at the same time showing the bigger picture of the problem," said Random.
The album opens with the songs "Šetam kuučka" and "Avgust", which were previously released and filmed, while the release features guest appearances by Dedduh from the group Who See, Podgorica rapper Sivilo, as well as younger performers Džukela and Talja.
Vocal support was provided by Ivana Racković and Milan Rogošić, while the album cover design was done by Tamara Sikimić.
The project was realized with the support of PAM Montenegro and the Secretariat for Culture of the Capital City, and is available on all major music platforms. Audiences who wish to further support the artist's work can also do so via his Bandcamp page.
