Reggae has had a special place in Herceg Novi for five years now, thanks to the Roots Revival Festival, which has brought together audiences from several countries and hosted many big names in this musical genre. This year's edition of the festival will be held from July 17th to 19th at the Kanli Tower in Herceg Novi, with the most ambitious program to date and three nights of concerts.
The program opens on July 17th with Eek-A-Mouse, one of the most recognizable voices of the reggae scene with a career spanning more than half a century, followed by Brother Culture, Irie Ites, Natty Fiyah, Tippy I and DJ Mizizi.
On the second day of the festival, July 18th, the audience can expect performances by Marcus Gad & Tribe, contemporary representatives of the roots reggae sound, the legendary rhythm section Mafia & Fluxy, as well as Roots Daughters, Immigrator Sound and Dadamana.
The closing night, July 19th, will feature performances by Who See, as well as other performers who will round out this year's festival program.
"Reggae has never been just music. It is a culture, a community, and a message that speaks of freedom, dignity, solidarity, and mutual respect. It is precisely these values that we are trying to preserve and convey through the festival," the organization says.
