Cara Delevingne has revealed that she initially planned to release her music under a different name, without revealing that she was behind the songs.
The model and musician explained in an interview with Playboy magazine that she wanted the audience to hear her music first, rather than judge it through the prism of her career in the fashion world.
"Initially, I wanted to release the music under a different name, so that no one would know it was me, because I just wanted it to get out to people. I didn't want preconceived notions - how many people would say it's bad without even listening to it?" Delevingne said.
However, she admitted that she is aware that some of the audience will have an opinion about her work regardless of the circumstances.
"Of course, I accept that there will be people who won't like my music, even when they know it's mine. But I didn't want my work to be dismissed before it had a chance," she added.
Delevingne, who will release her first album this summer, emphasized that people who have always viewed her as an artist, not just a model, are especially important to her.
Among them, she singled out music legend Stevie Nicks, who particularly surprised her at one of her concerts.
"Stevie Nicks came to my tenth concert and gave me a ring off her finger. It was completely incredible. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that moment," she said.
Delevingne announced her musical journey in April, when she released the songs "I Forgot" and "Out of My Head" and began touring. She said at the time that music was both her "greatest fear and greatest love."
He is scheduled to release his debut album by the end of the summer.
