NSYNC still don't know what happened to their lost album

NSYNC have an entire album of lost songs that never saw the light of day.

The "Bye Bye Bye" hitmakers parted ways with their then-manager Lou Perlman and his Trans Continental record label in the late 1990s. Perlman retained the rights to the album they were working on at the time, forcing the band to start over and record a new album, "No Strings Attached," in 2000. However, the band members themselves don't know what happened to the songs that were never released.

"There's a whole CD. After we parted ways with our former manager, he had the rights to the whole album we recorded, so we didn't get any of those songs. So we started over with the 'No Strings Attached' album. We had to re-record everything and make a whole new album," Joey Fatone said.

He added that there are still about 12 or 13 songs circulating among people, and it is possible that he himself owns a copy of them.

"There are copies circulating and... the authors have either published them or put them up somewhere," he said.

His bandmate Lens Bass, 47, believes that many of the songs NSYNC recorded but never released are "probably just lost" and are in the archives somewhere. Among them is a song called "Tanya," which, he says, "could have been a real hit."

Joey, however, had a slightly different opinion:

"It was a song that had a different title in every chorus. It wasn't very good. It didn't get anywhere."

*NSYNC, in addition to Fatone and Bass, consisted of Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, and JC Chasez. The band broke up in 2001, but the members have reunited several times over the years. They last performed together in 2024, during a Justin Timberlake concert in Los Angeles.
