My Chemical Romance have shared their hope to record a new album, which would be their first in over 15 years.
The band held the final concert of their "Long Live The Black Parade" tour to celebrate the album's anniversary in San Antonio on Saturday. They performed the entire iconic emo album at the concert, followed by a second set on the B-stage set up in the middle of the venue.
On that occasion, frontman Gerard Way spoke to the audience about their desire to record a new album, which could be their first studio album since 2010's "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys".
"I just want you to know that, actually, we've always wanted to make another album, so we're hoping that life will allow us to do that," Way said.
"Because you guys have, honestly, kept us alive for so long. You guys deserve another album. I don't know when that's going to be. But it's going to be great," he added.
As Way said, there is no official release date or timeframe yet, but this represents the band's first public hint about a fifth album since their 2019 reunion.
Last night's concert was the culmination of a major tour celebrating the anniversary of their iconic 2006 album. The album was performed in its entirety throughout the tour, and the tour later expanded into a global stadium tour with concerts across North America, the UK and Europe.
