Goo Goo Dolls frontman John Resnick doesn't want to "lecture" the audience during concerts.
The 60-year-old singer-songwriter wants people to leave after his performance "happier and more satisfied," which is why he tries not to express his political views between songs.
"I have an audience, fans and friends from all walks of life, with different political views, literally everything. And I always emphasize that we have one thing in common. We live in strange times, but we have something in common, and that is that we are all here to watch a concert. I will not lecture people about anything. I will play a bunch of songs, and then we will all leave here happier and more satisfied. That's it," he said while guesting on the show "Everything Music".
Reznik doesn't care who his fans vote for or what religion they belong to, but he's glad to see them at his concerts.
"I don't care who you vote for, I don't care if you go to church. We all have one thing in common. That's the beginning. You have to operate within that little Venn diagram," he added.
