The members of the Regina group were recently in Paris to record a video for the single "Za one stare dane", which announces the new studio album.
The song will be the first single from the album "Regina u srcu", and both will be released on February 14. As the project contains 12 love songs, it was logical to release it just in time for Valentine's Day," Aleksandar Čović, author, guitarist and founder of Regina, revealed to Vijestima.
"Since the song is about love, and we know that Paris is the city of love, it was logical to shoot the video there. We tried to convey the Balkan culture to them on the streets of the city, where we filmed playing street musicians, and the reactions to our single were interesting," says Ćović.
Since there are clear rules in the European Union, it is difficult to work without a permit, even on the street, but the members of the popular band, Čović admits, took a risk.
"We filmed for two days on the streets of Paris and we were lucky that no one touched us, we didn't even have any inconveniences while playing street musicians. We didn't even think about permits and other paperwork, it was important for us to shoot the video. Although I doubt that all those who play in European cities have permits, we did well in that regard," he says.
They were as authentic as street musicians, so those who heard them during those two days had no idea that they were recording a video.
Despite the good reaction of passers-by, they could not boast of a good tip.
"We didn't get a cent for all that street music, so we returned home with empty pockets. If it's a consolation for us, during our stay on the street, what we presented was well received, so there were a lot of people who patted us on the shoulder, said how good we were and took pictures with us", Čović recounts the events from Paris. .
He says about the new album that it will be different from what Regina's audience is used to, and what that means concretely, he explains:
“The release will be much more diverse. We still dealt with the love theme, but the sound is much richer. We used instruments that had not been in arrangements before. We prepared this album for a long time and studiously, and since I opened my studio a year ago, I had time to dedicate myself to it as much as possible. Even a lot of musicians, who passed through our studio, gave their stamp to this album".
Čović said that in the beginning they had twenty songs.
"We chose 12 of them for the album. They are all love and we can't wait for the reaction of the audience," he said.
