Macedonian music diva Kaliopi Bukle decided to celebrate her 50th birthday in a special way. Namely, yesterday she released a new single "Rođendan", which brings a new - different and more modern Kaliopi. This track is signed by her longtime producer and author of her greatest hits, Romo Grill.
"It is important that everything that happens in our lives happens at the right time. This single represents a special joy and happiness for me, especially because with it my producer and collaborator Romeo guessed my current emotional state, so it didn't take long for us to decide what I want to present to the audience for my birthday," Kaliopi told Vijesti News. .
As she said, she got this song from Grill during the period when she was working on the cover of the song "Kesten" by the group Alisa.
"Because of that project, Romeo traveled from Switzerland and pulled this track out of his sleeve. He told me then that he was bringing me something very strong and big, and as soon as I heard the song I knew he was absolutely right because this is one of the most powerful songs I have performed. I knew right away that this song would be a new life anthem and that I wanted to celebrate my jubilee, my 50th birthday, with this track. Based on the first reactions, I think we were not wrong, and the video only completed the story. Romeo did this song masterfully and I really consider myself a lucky woman and singer", admitted Kaliopi.
In response to comments that the track is in trend, Kaliopi points out that she never tried to appeal to the audience or follow the current sound.
"That's where the producer is most responsible, because the singer can't think about everything. Everyone should have their role. However, everything is much easier when you have confidence in the producer, like I do in Romeo because he knows me so well that he can always sense all my moods. As for genres, I never tried to flirt with trends, but all my songs follow my inner state. A chameleon also changes colors to protect itself from its enemies, so I see no reason why we shouldn't change our sound from time to time in order to be new and different to ourselves," she points out.
Kaliopi claims that age was never important to her as a number, but as an opportunity to achieve moments by which she will be remembered. However, her single "Rođendan" is a love song. In addition to a large number of hits and many years of experience on the music scene, Kaliopi points out that she is not yet tired of singing about love.
"If I get tired of singing about love, it's like I get tired of life. It is love that drives, it is the main spice of life, the alpha and omega because without it man cannot survive. No matter how much it seems to someone that they can be alone, and survive like that, they will still kill themselves", Kaliopi is sure, adding that in addition to celebrating love, her new song also has a message.
"If you love, then every day is your birthday. Otherwise, everything is in your head and if you wake up with the thought that you are happy and satisfied, it will be easier for you to solve all the obstacles," concludes Kaliopi.
Performances all over the world
The single "Birthday" is an announcement of everything that awaits us in the coming year when it comes to the Macedonian musical diva. And Kaliopi promises more new songs.
"This is just a warm-up. Next year will bring at least two or three more singles, Romeo is tirelessly working on the album, and I, as a little girl, can't wait to hear what he has prepared for me", admits Kaliopi.
She used the opportunity to announce numerous concerts that are planned.
"What I will also dedicate myself to is a concert tour in Europe. After the Eurovision Song Contest, I gained a lot of fans outside the borders of the former Yugoslavia, so in 2017, performances all over the world await me," adds Kaliopi.
