No charges will be filed against people posing as transgender activists, who took photos of themselves next to the house of Joanna Kathleen Rowling, and published them on the Internet revealing the exact address of the writer's home, the police announced, and the world media reported.
The author of the series of novels about the boy wizard, Harry Potter, complained to the police after three people published a photo of her home in Edinburgh, on the social network Twitter, showing the name of the street and the number, considering that her safety was threatened.
Rowling has been facing backlash from fans of her novels for some time, and although she has often supported the LGBTQ+ population, she sparked outrage by mockingly commenting on the title of a newspaper article in which women were referred to as "persons who menstruate".
Dissatisfaction went so far that her appearance in the 20th anniversary special of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" was omitted, archival footage of her was used, and on social media, wizarding world fans were filmed erasing her name from the novel which she wrote.
