Black, red and white - a winning combination

After numerous fashion capitals in the world, the spring edition of Fashion Week started in Podgorica. At the Knjaz Estate, as many as eight creators presented their collections on the first evening of the 32nd Montenegrin Fashion Week.

The event was opened by a pianist and designer Stefan Djokovic which showcased evening and cocktail dresses. After him, fashion connoisseurs had the opportunity to enjoy the "Vintage Rebel" collection. Ana Vasiljević, as well as “Apocalypto” Ilona Szabo, and on the first evening of Fashion Week, second-year students of the Department of Fashion Design at UDG and third-year students of the Department of Fashion Design Technician at the Vocational High School "Spasoje Raspopović" presented their views on fashion on the given topics, with the mentorship of a Montenegrin designer Marine Banović. The youngest also walked the runway in the new collection of the Original Marines brand, as well as the Paul Taylor brand. She also had an interesting collection Natalia Urbanova which closed the first night of Fashion Week.

Monda blogger Milena Pajović she doesn't miss events like fashion week, and for Vijesti she reveals who left a special impression on her.

"If I have to single out someone who left a special impression on me on the first night, it is definitely Natalija Urbanova. I met her creations at one of the past Fashion Weeks and I really liked them. I'm generally a fan of the black-red-white combination, and she had a lot of creations in that color. I would especially single out the set that was red and black with a pattern that I also liked, but Natalija obviously bought the material before me", admits Pajović.

She does not hide that she is glad that young designers are increasingly given the opportunity to present themselves at events like this.

"I'm glad that they are more and more often part of such fashion shows, and present their creativity on them. This time we had the opportunity to see the creations of UDG students and the third grade of SSŠ who are under the mentorship of Marina Banović, and they presented phenomenal pieces. You can see how creative they are and that they have no shortage of inspiration. It's great for the future Montenegrin fashion scene", notes Pajović, for whom such manifestations are often an inspiration for everyday outfits.

However, in addition to Urbanova, who delighted her, there were also those who did not leave a particularly strong impression on her.

"Perhaps I will be brutally honest, but I would say that some of the creations I saw on the first night of Fashion Week do not deserve to walk the runway in my opinion. It's all a matter of taste and creativity. As for inspiration, I always find something to sew. I mentioned Natalija Urbanova, that set she presented is something I would sew for myself.

I have to admit that the audience comes well-dressed to events like this. There are always a few people who are adequately dressed for the occasion, with style, and they are usually people from the fashion world who are involved in the beauty fashion world in some way", notes Pajović.

Last night, as part of the event, Montenegrin designer Nataša Pejović celebrated her first decade on the fashion scene, and tonight at the closing evening of MFW, she will present her new collections. Jasna Ramcic, Fahreta i Amela Tahirović, UDG first-year students, Valentina Mitrović, Bosko Jakovljević, Nikola Vasiljevic i Verica Rakočević.
