Foo Fighters and Alanis Morissette have paid tribute to Sinead O'Connor by teaming up to cover "Mandinka".
The joint performance took place during Foo Fighters' set at Japan's Fuji Rock Festival on Saturday, July 29.
Introducing the song, Alanis said:
"For a beautiful woman, of high intelligence and deep empathy, who was far ahead of her time, who is no longer with us".
O'Connor died on Wednesday, July 26, at the age of 56.
"Mandinka" was released on her 1987 debut album, The Lion and the Cobra.
In the days following her death, P!NK and Brandi Carly and Tori Amos also paid tribute to her on stage.
Fans in Dublin sing "Nothing Compares 2 U"
Fans of Sinead O'Connor sang her most famous songs at a touching gathering in Dublin on Sunday afternoon to pay tribute to the late star.
O'Connor, who died in London last Sunday aged 56, shot to international fame in 1990 with her version of the hit song.
With a powerful voice and lyrics, the Irish singer was known for her sharp sociopolitical views, including those related to scandals of abuse in the Catholic Church and the sexualization of female musicians.
The afternoon sing-along in Bernardo Square in central Dublin was organized by the socialist feminist group Rosa. Activist Rose and former Irish parliamentarian Ruth Coppinger paid tribute to the late singer.
"With an exceptional and unique voice that could be a whisper and a scream in one verse, she captivated the audience. Sinead O'Connor's art and activism are inseparable - they are key to each other. Her artistic integrity and sense of justice came from a personal experience of injustice," she said.
