The Beckham family has been the center of attention on social media in recent days, and part of Brooklyn Beckham's lengthy message has even sparked a trend on TikTok. Namely, the son of David and Victoria Beckham claims that his mother, a former Spice Girl member and fashion designer, ruined his first dance with his wife Nicola Peltz at their wedding by unplannedly interrupting them and dancing with him, and that she "danced inappropriately" on the occasion.
Now social media users are making parodies trying to recreate her "inappropriate dance" with her son, and many are asking wedding guests to share footage of the controversial moment if they have it.
Either voluntarily or due to public curiosity, DJ Fat Tonny, who was in charge of the music at Brooklyn Beckham's wedding, revealed what happened that night, noting that "the whole situation was really uncomfortable for everyone in the room."
"There was no obscene gesticulation, no black PVC suits, no Spice Girls action," the DJ said, adding that pop singer Marc Anthony was entertaining guests at the wedding and at one point invited Brooklyn up on stage.
"The next minute everyone expected Nikola to come out and do the first dance," said Fat Tonny.
According to him, Anthony then called for "the most beautiful woman in the room" to come on stage, saying the name of Victoria Beckham, not his wife Nikola.
"This caused the bride to run out of the room in tears," the DJ said.
"Victoria is at the side of the stage, she comes out on stage and of course at that moment Brooklyn is surprised, literally heartbroken, because he thought he was going to have his first dance with his wife. Then Nikola leaves the room crying. Brooklyn is stuck on stage. And then they did this dance, and Marc Anthony said, 'Put your hands on your mother's hips.' It was a Latin thing. The whole situation was very uncomfortable for everyone in the room," the DJ added.
He points out that he has played music at many parties hosted by the Beckhams and can confirm that they are a "close family" who "love to dance."
Commenting on claims that Brooklyn and his mother's dance was "inappropriate," he says that it "depends on how Brooklyn feels."
"If he thinks it was inappropriate and uncomfortable, it was inappropriate and uncomfortable," he said.
The DJ also claims that the brunch, which took place the next day, was "the most unpleasant part of it all, because everything that happened during the wedding celebration was discussed among the guests the next morning."
He added that the newlyweds left "broken," but also that the dance was "a very small part of a larger problem" for the feuding family.
In his Instagram post, Brooklyn said that he did not want to reconcile with his family, citing other problems such as Victoria's last-minute cancellation of designing a wedding dress for Nikola, and the fact that the Beckhams' most important thing is to maintain the brand of their last name.
David and Victoria Beckham have not directly commented on the claims, nor have they given their side of the story. Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz married in 2022.
