Mardi Gras is a traditional carnival celebration held in Italy, France, Brazil... the most famous edition is in New Orleans, where thousands of visitors gather, and the atmosphere marked by parades, music, and alcohol consumption often results in stormy nights - even for famous faces.
This time, the media's attention was drawn to actor Shia LaBeouf, who, according to The Hollywood Reporter, citing sources from New Orleans restaurants, was visiting bars last weekend.
The actor, who has been talking about his sobriety in recent years after having problems with alcoholism, was reportedly seen in a visibly intoxicated state in the aforementioned city from Thursday to Sunday.
The incident at Ms. Mae's, a 24-hour bar, has drawn the most attention, with employees claiming that LaBeouf showed up Sunday night shirtless and without cash, describing him as "drunk and a bit aggressive."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor "pulled" the famous line: "Do you know who I am?" and tried to pay with a card several times, even though there are numerous signs in the bar warning that bills are paid in cash only.
The actor then tried to get behind the bar and "play the famous bartender," but the employees asked him to leave the bar, which he did.
Employees of other bars, such as Dos Jefes and 45 Tchoup, also claim that the actor came in an intoxicated state.
LaBeouf has been sober for years, and previously justified his aggressive behavior towards ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs with alcoholism.
