Robert Pattinson has revealed that a therapist thought he was "on drugs" while they were talking.
The actor spoke with Zendaya for "Interview Magazine" about the pressure that comes with fame after becoming known worldwide.
Reflecting on the reactions from the audience and the media, Pattinson said:
"I went to therapy once and the therapist asked me if I was on drugs because he couldn't understand what I was talking about. I told him I was just trying to express myself as best I could," the actor said.
He also reflected on the period after filming the vampire saga, which brought him enormous success, but also criticism.
"With success came a lot of criticism, so I had to learn how to balance that. I enjoyed making movies, but the pressure of promotion was great. I didn't want my personal life to be completely overshadowed by that, so I tried to keep my personal touch, and that stuck with me," Pattinson said.
Pattinson played Edward Cullen in five vampire films between 2008 and 2012. He then turned to independent projects, including the thriller "Good Time," "The Lighthouse" and "Mickey 17."
This year, he stars alongside Zendaya in two films - "The Drama (A24)," which hits theaters on April 3, and "Dune: Part Three," scheduled for December 18.
In July, he will appear in Christopher Nolan's epic film "The Odyssey," and is also working on a sequel to the hit film The Batman.
