As a child, he sang at weddings.

Ryan Gosling is today considered one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood, but long before fame and major awards, he made his first appearances in a rather unusual place - at weddings.

On the show hosted by his colleague Drew Barrymore, he revealed an interesting story from his childhood that largely determined his artistic path.

"My uncle was an Elvis Presley impersonator. I came home from school one day and found him in the living room decorating a white suit with a big eagle on the back. He told me he was going to be Elvis for a while and he totally got into it," Gosling recalled.

As he says, his uncle not only looked like Elvis, but also began to talk, sing and act like him, even practicing karate in the yard.

Gosling points out that it was this experience, as a child, that introduced him to the idea of ​​fully immersing himself in a role. Today, he says, he is still grateful for it because it had a great influence on his life.

In the small town in Ontario where he grew up, his uncle's performances soon became a local event.

"People came to see him at the mall, everyone felt like they were really watching Elvis. They even organized a talent show to further enrich the program," he recalled.

He adds that even ordinary people from the neighborhood were discovering their talents at the time, so, for example, a store worker would put on a performance that would delight the audience.

That atmosphere had a strong influence on him, because, as he says, he realized that the stage gives people the freedom to show who they really are.

When his uncle stopped performing, Gosling and his sister decided to continue in that spirit, primarily because they found it fun. So he started singing at weddings.

"I was paid $20 to sing 'When a Man Loves a Woman' during part of the ceremony. Now I don't understand who thought of including an eight-year-old in such a moment," Gosling says with a laugh.

He also recalled how he would kneel before the bride while she sang, and then wait for his earnings.

After that unusual beginning, at the age of 13 he became part of the cast of the show "The All-New Mickey Mouse Club", thus taking his first serious steps towards a great career.
