Rapper charged with domestic violence

Rapper Desiigner was arrested on Monday, March 23, on charges of domestic violence.

The 28-year-old musician, whose real name is Sidney Royall Selby III, has been charged with third-degree domestic violence in Horry County, South Carolina.

He was taken into custody on March 23rd, and released the very next day on $1.500 bail.

The arrest follows an alleged incident on March 2. According to a police report, the victim was the mother of his child who claims Selby returned home angry, started yelling and throwing car keys, after which the confrontation escalated into a physical altercation.

She allegedly tried to leave to pick up her luggage at the airport, but he ripped her keys out of her pocket and tore her pants. He then took their child and put him in a car seat. When she tried to react, he allegedly knocked her to the ground in front of the house. According to police, she suffered minor abrasions on her arm and lower back.

She managed to get up and get the child out of the car, who she said did not witness the incident. When police arrived on the scene, Selby was no longer there.

This isn't the first time the rapper has had trouble with the law. In September 2023, he was convicted of disorderly conduct on a plane after allegedly masturbating during a flight despite warnings from the crew. He was then sentenced to 120 hours of community service, a $5.000 fine, and two years of probation.
