At the recently held official Miss Montenegro pageant, won by Maša Vukićević from Cetinje, 19-year-old Laura Brković from Podgorica was declared the first runner-up.
This medical school graduate, as she revealed in an interview with "Vijesti", will represent Montenegro at the world pageant in China, thanks to her second place in the beauty pageant and the first runner-up ribbon. In the interview, she also talked more about herself and her previous experience in the world of modeling, as well as the obligations that come with winning second place in the Miss Montenegro pageant.
"I am graduating from medical school, and in the future I plan to enroll in the Faculty of Law, because I want to develop in the direction of responsibility, justice, and working with people," Brković introduces himself.
"I have been modeling for 13 years, I went to a professional modeling school, and later I started working for many local and foreign designers. I was also the face of the Montenegro Fashion Week fashion campaign, and through modeling I learned to build discipline, confidence, and a professional attitude towards responsibilities," she claims.
When asked why she decided to apply for the Miss Montenegro pageant, she said that she saw the competition as a valuable experience.
"I decided to take this step because I believe it is a beautiful and valuable experience through which I will meet new people and thus step out of my comfort zone. I believe that the Miss Montenegro competition is something that is not only a mirror of beauty but also of inner identity, authenticity and intellect," explains the interviewee of "Vijesti".
"It's a wonderful opportunity through which I present my personality, attitude, values, and dignity," she concludes, and reveals whether she expected the first runner-up ribbon.
"The first runner-up ribbon is something that made a big difference in my modeling career. Of course, I am very honored and pleased to have won the first runner-up ribbon, because it is a great motivation for me and confirmation that my effort, work, and confidence have been recognized," she answers.
As she says, she had strong competition among the finalists.
"The girls who made it to the finals - I'll honestly say that it was very difficult to have a favorite, because each girl was beautiful in her own way and each had a special story of charisma and authenticity," says Brković, who made new friends during the competition.
"As for friendship, we connected immediately and I'm so glad that from such a beautiful event I'm building a beautiful friendship that will last. I remember a very beautiful and emotional scene before the announcement of the finalists who made it to the top 5, when our dear Maša and I supported each other and I will remember that moment for a very long time," shared Laura, who also looks back on the organization of the competition itself.
"Now that the impressions from the pageant have settled down a bit, I can freely say that this was an unforgettable and beautiful experience, and that the organization was at the highest level thanks to Vesna de Vinča, her associate Milanka Đorđević, choreographer and designer Miroslav Pučijašević, and also our dear spokesperson Božo Dobriši," she says.
"We had a very short period of time to prepare, but with a great team and some really wonderful people, we did it very professionally and exceeded all expectations," continues Brković, who also explains how she plans to use the first runner-up ribbon.
"In general, my expectations from the ribbon are to present it in the best possible and dignified way, because I believe that this title carries with it a beautiful responsibility with which I want to encourage other girls to believe in themselves and not give up on their dreams," says Laura.
"I want to use the title to further improve my education, eloquence, humanity, travel and, above all, develop new aspects of communication," she added, then revealed that, thanks to her second place in the Miss Montenegro pageant, she will have the opportunity to participate in an international competition.
"When it comes to my future plans - now I will reveal for the first time that I will represent our country at the international Miss Tourism competition to be held in China, where the Fashion Week will also be held. Of course, I will give my last spark to present our country in the best way and in the best light," promises Brković.
