Hollywood actor Antonio Banderas has denied allegations of financial problems and bankruptcy, which appeared in some foreign media following information about the operations of his theater "Teatro del Soho CaixaBank" in Malaga.

In recent days, it was reported that his theater project was facing multi-million-dollar losses, which sparked speculation about serious financial difficulties.

Banderas, however, made it clear that such claims have no basis and that his project was never driven by the logic of profit.

He emphasized that the theater is, above all, the realization of his long-standing desire and artistic vision, not a commercial venture.

"I feel sorry for those who might feel pleasure if it were true," the actor said, emphasizing that he has no financial problems.

He explained that the "Teatro del Soho CaixaBank" was conceived as a space dedicated to top-notch productions, regardless of costs and financial results.

"These losses, thank God, I can easily bear. That's my deal with my passion for theater, with my city and with myself," Banderas said.

He added that he could have earned significantly more if his goal had been profit, but that he consciously chose to invest in ambitious projects that create jobs and bring together a large number of people in production.

He particularly emphasized that this is a private, non-profit institution that does not use public funds.

"I personally cover the costs of very expensive projects," he said, thanking the partners and sponsors who support him.

The theater was founded in 2019, and the actor previously pointed out that the heart attack he suffered in 2017 was a turning point that brought him back to the stage and closer contact with the audience. Despite media reports, Banderas has no plans to slow down his work.

"Last year we had almost 200 thousand viewers, we are breaking records and we will continue," he said, adding in his own style:

"I'm not broke, I'm on top of the world and I'm terrifyingly happy."

Although there have been reports of losses, his total wealth is estimated at around 50 million euros. In addition to his film career, he generates significant income through a successful perfume line, as well as smart real estate investments in New York, Madrid, Marbella and Malaga, where he currently lives.
