Pop queen Madonna responded to comments from her younger colleague, Charli XCX, that "the dance floor is dead."
The pop legend is currently preparing to release the long-awaited follow-up to her 2005 album "Confessions On A Dance Floor," titled "Confessions II." Meanwhile, Charli XCX released the single "Rock Music," which went viral for its provocative message:
"I think the dance floor is dead, so now we're making rock music."
The singer previously introduced the line in an interview with British Vogue, where she further explained:
"It's fun to reverse the form. We know there will be people who will be bothered by it, but that's okay."
So it's no surprise that many interpreted it as a provocation of Madonna, and the queen of pop has now responded to her via social media.
In an Instagram post, Madonna wrote alongside a series of photos:
"If your dance floor feels dead, you might be playing the wrong music."
Madonna's new album is due out on July 3rd.
