Dua Lipa and Calum Turner got married in Sicily

After a very private civil ceremony in London, singer Dua Lipa and actor Calum Turner exchanged vows again on Saturday, June 6. This time, they opted for a lavish celebration in Sicily, and the glamorous celebration in Palermo reportedly cost around $1,73 million, Vanity Fair reports.

“With historic villas, aristocratic palaces and luxury hotels as a backdrop, the British-Albanian singer (30) and the British actor (36) gathered an impressive list of VIP guests, transforming the Sicilian capital into an international stage for music, fashion and the jet set,” the magazine writes.

Informed sources have already called the event "the wedding of the year", with one of them declaring that it was "the most important wedding in Sicily since Michael Corleone's wedding", alluding to the cult film "The Godfather".

The centerpiece of the celebration was held at the magnificent Villa Valguarnera, one of the island's most prestigious 18th-century residences, often called a “little Versailles.” Over the years, it has served as the location for numerous films and advertising campaigns, including a Dolce & Gabbana ad featuring Sophia Loren.

The newlyweds exchanged vows in a garden gazebo, while Elton John, who arrived in Palermo by private plane, performed his hit "Your Song" accompanied by piano.

After dinner, the atmosphere was taken over by some of the biggest names in electronic music - Carl Cox, Martin Garrix, David Guetta and Peggy Gou.

The entire event was under extremely strict security measures. Anti-drone systems were used, and all employees and suppliers had to sign confidentiality agreements. Photography and filming were strictly prohibited, with the threat of heavy fines for violators.

The organization was led by famous wedding planner Alessandra Grilo, who specializes in events for world stars.

Among the 200 or so guests who arrived from Los Angeles, London and Paris were many famous names. In addition to Elton John, Donatella Versace, Charli XCX and her husband George Daniel, Kevin Parker and his wife Sophie, actor Joe Alwyn, and Mark Ronson and his wife Grace Gamer were also present. Dua's sister Rina Lipa and her father Dukagjin Lipa were also present.
