British singer Jessie J has spoken openly about the experience she went through after being diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and having a mastectomy last year.
The singer of the hits "Price Tag" and "Domino" announced in May that she was cured, and now she has reflected on the difficult period that, as she says, changed her outlook on life.
"The last 18 months have been the most incredible, magical time of my life, but also the most difficult," Jessie said.
The singer, who has a three-year-old son, Skaja, said that it is through difficult moments that people often discover the most important parts of themselves.
"When we face challenges, life is trying to teach us something," she pointed out.
Speaking about the changes that have happened to her, Jessie, with a dose of humor, also mentioned the surgery that removed her breast.
"And then I became a mother, even though I never thought it would happen, and suddenly one of my breasts was just cut off. You know what I mean?" said the singer.
She added that life can bring unexpected changes and told women to appreciate their bodies.
"You never know when your boobs will be taken away, so enjoy your boobs," she said jokingly, then added:
"It's a metaphor for life. Enjoy your boobs while you have them!".
Jessie J previously spoke about the fear and uncertainty after her diagnosis, but also about how much the support of her family and the fact that she became a mother helped her get through the most difficult period.
Today, he emphasizes that he wants to celebrate life, music, and the opportunity to continue doing what he loves.
