New lawsuit against Travis Scott

Travis Scott is facing a civil lawsuit over an alleged physical assault and threats against the crew of a rented yacht in Miami two years ago.

Although the rapper was arrested in June 2024 for disturbing public order due to being intoxicated and being in the Miami Beach marina without authorization, no criminal charges were filed against him at the time.

Now, the yacht's captain, Adrian Frometta, and charter company managers John Steve Holguin and Mirnesa Hasanovic have filed a civil lawsuit, claiming that Scott physically assaulted them, threatened them, and caused them serious emotional distress.

According to the lawsuit, which Billboard has seen, Scott rented the 32-meter yacht Carpe Diem on June 19, 2024, to cruise the Miami coast with three guests.

Captain Fromet, who was initially the only crew member on board, claims that the rapper became visibly intoxicated and increasingly aggressive throughout the evening. Due to his behavior, he decided to end the voyage early and return the yacht to the marina, but Scott reportedly refused to disembark.

"Without any warning, Scott pushed Frometta from behind and then struck him in the neck and upper chest with a closed fist. He threatened him repeatedly, saying he was 'finished' and that he would kill him," the lawsuit states.

Fromet then called for help from Hasanović and Holgán, after which, according to their claims, another confrontation broke out. Holgán claims that Scott knocked him to the floor, while he and Hasanović locked themselves inside the yacht.

The lawsuit states that the rapper kept yelling that they were "dead" while trying to force open the glass door, which they were holding closed from the inside.

The police soon arrived at the scene and arrested Scott.

After the incident, the rapper released T-shirts and other merchandise featuring his police photo, taken after his arrest, for sale. Prosecutors say he made fun of the incident and downplayed the seriousness of what they say they suffered.

The yacht captain and the charter company managers are now seeking monetary damages from the court for alleged assault, physical violence, unlawful deprivation of liberty and intentional infliction of emotional suffering.
