Britney Spears caused a stir among fans after she posted a cryptic message and photos on Instagram that many interpreted as a hint that she was expecting a baby.
"If you're lucky, I have someone incredibly beautiful I want to introduce to you, hopefully this year. And if not, then some of the most beautiful things will never be seen," the singer wrote.
She also shared a poetic message in the continuation of the post:
"Whatever happens, so close, but I feel that my feet have lived in fear for too long. That's why I was found on the ground where silence lasts, and that's where everything begins. Everything is in silence."
The first photo in the post shows several items for the baby - a bodysuit with the words "Phoenix has arrived", a hat, shorts and a small backpack with a unicorn.
This was followed by a childhood photo of her son Jaden, as well as an illustration of a mother lifting a seashell to reveal her son, and a photo of hands clasped in prayer.
Britney Spears has two sons from her marriage to ex-husband Kevin Federline - twenty-year-old Sean and nineteen-year-old Jaden.
Recall that on Father's Day this year, in a post that she later deleted, the singer wrote that she hopes to become a mother again one day.
"I bought this guitar in Mexico in the hopes that one day I would have another baby," she wrote at the time alongside a photo of herself holding the guitar.
Britney was married to Sam Asghari from 2022 to 2024, with whom she had no children.
