American rapper Lil Wayne is launching a new weekly podcast, "The Joint Venture," which will premiere on July 22nd.
The 43-year-old musician, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., has teamed up with WFAN radio host Craig Carton, and the first episode will be filmed live at the Fanatics Fest NYC event, with numerous sports stars appearing.
Lil Wayne, who previously hosted "Young Money Radio" on Apple Music, emphasized that he wanted the podcast to be spontaneous and relaxed.
"The best podcasts are the ones where you feel like you're sitting with your friends and talking like no one's listening. I'll fire one up with my friend Craig and we'll talk about whatever the day brings. You never know who's going to join us or where the conversation's going to go," the rapper said.
Karton added that he has enjoyed talking with Wayne for years.
"There's nothing better than exchanging opinions with Wayne about sports, pop culture and a host of other topics. 'The Joint Venture' gives us a great excuse to continue what we've been doing for years," he said.
Lil Wayne and Carton have been friends for many years, and the rapper appeared on his show on WFAN radio in March.
