Kanye West faces another lawsuit

Rapper Kanye West is facing a new lawsuit from a producer who claims the rapper refused to pay him for work he did for two years.

The lawsuit was filed by an anonymous producer who goes by the name "John Doe" in court documents. He claims he was hired "under emergency circumstances" just two days before the release of 2024's "Vultures 2," and later collaborated with West again on this year's "Bully."

The producer is suing Vest for alleged breach of contract, unjust enrichment, violation of laws protecting freelancers, and several other grounds.

According to Rolling Stone magazine, which had access to the lawsuit, the producer spent almost two years unsuccessfully trying to collect payment for his work.

The lawsuit alleges that West “refused to pay plaintiff for services rendered,” and also failed to provide “a written contract, as required by law,” or credit him on digital streaming platforms, despite his creative contributions.

The producer claims to have created more than 400 AI vocal generations using at least 13 custom AI voice models, along with his own voice.

According to the lawsuit, West used the material on five songs from the album "Vultures 2." The collaboration continued in October 2024 on the album "Bully," for which the producer claims to have created additional AI vocals.

The lawsuit also alleges that West acknowledged his contribution and that they worked to update the streaming platforms to reflect it. It also alleges that the rapper offered the producer a "master buyout."

The producer is now seeking at least $110 in damages for his contribution to a total of seven songs.

Vest has faced numerous lawsuits in recent years.

He recently reached an out-of-court settlement with a former assistant who accused him of sexual assault, human trafficking for sexual exploitation, and wrongful termination. His legal team has dismissed all the allegations, calling them “baseless,” and details of the agreement have not been made public.

Last May, it was also determined that he used a music sample in the song "Hurricane" without the author's permission.

In March of this year, a court ordered him to pay a former employee $140 for unpaid work on renovations to his Malibu home.

West is also facing a lawsuit from model Jennifer Ann, who accused him of sexual assault in November 2024.

Ann, a finalist on the 2009 "America's Next Top Model" competition, claims that West choked her and forced her to perform what she called "pornographic suffocation" while filming a video for the group La Roux.
