The best way to attract attention is with elegance and good taste.

For years, world film festivals have been attracting attention not only for their achievements and awards, but also for what happens on the red carpet. From lavish gowns to unexpected fashion choices, the appearance of celebrities often becomes a story in itself. The same trend is increasingly present at domestic festivals, where, in addition to the selection of films and the program, it is also important how actors, directors and other public figures will look in front of photographers.

This year, Montenegrin designer Nataša Pejović had the opportunity to appear on the red carpet of the Sarajevo Film Festival, and as she says, one of the most important events in the region can rival similar events around the world.

"My impressions are truly wonderful. I really liked the SFF and I think that Sarajevo gains a special energy during the festival. There were so many interesting people, big film names and nice encounters, that I really enjoyed the whole atmosphere. When we compare it to major world events like the Oscars, Emmys or MTV awards, of course there are differences, but I think that the SFF absolutely has its place among major world festivals. What I especially like is that it does not try to be a copy of any world event, but has its own spirit, its own story and that special Sarajevo energy. For example, they do not have a classic red carpet, but a traditional Bosnian carpet. A beautiful and symbolic combination of world glamour and tradition. It is precisely such details that give the SFF authenticity, character and make it different," says Pejović in an interview for "Vijesti" who herself had the opportunity to walk along a Bosnian carpet.

Often, in their desire to attract attention, public figures make completely wrong fashion choices for the red carpet. Instead of striking and thoughtful styling, they opt for creations that seem overstated, tasteless, or simply not appropriate for the occasion. The line between daring and kitschy is sometimes very thin, and the desire to be different does not always mean that the fashion choice will be successful.

"For me, the most important thing is that there is a measure, that the styling is elegant and effective, but without the need to overdo it. A long dress, a good cut, quality material and carefully selected details are often enough. It is also important that you feel beautiful and comfortable in what you are wearing, because this is seen in the way you wear the dress and the entire styling. I think it is most beautiful when you manage to attract attention with elegance and good taste, and not by exaggeration," advises Pejović.

Festivals like SFF often become an inspiration for both fashion designers and the public, because their releases can initiate new trends and influence what will be worn in the future. Pejović does not hide the fact that such events are very inspiring to her as well.

"SFF was particularly inspiring to me because of the atmosphere and the people I had the opportunity to see in one place. It's nice to see how everyone approaches the red carpet in their own way and how many different styles can be seen during the festival days. I especially like it when someone manages to combine elegance with a personal touch, without losing their sense of proportion. I think events like this can be a great inspiration, not only because of the fashion, but also the way everyone shows a part of their personality through their style," she emphasizes.

For the red carpet, Nataša chose a simple, long black dress with an interesting construction around the waist.

"It's a kind of variation on the peplum theme. I like to emphasize the silhouette and femininity through design, so here too I wanted this detail to be what gives the dress character, while remaining elegant and measured. I chose simple but striking jewelry to go with the dress, which nicely rounded off the entire styling. It was important to me that everything was harmonious and measured, that the dress remained in the foreground, and that the jewelry further emphasized the entire look," concludes Pejović.
