A small daily frequent stress is more dangerous for a person's health than a big stress caused by a divorce, the death of a loved one or the loss of a job.
"People will soon be killed more often for small and seemingly insignificant reasons because the nervous system of modern man is irreversibly destroyed by hundreds of small daily stresses," said Richard Lazarus, a psychologist.
Petty quarrels at work, sudden ringing of the phone and excessive physical and mental effort in the race against time are especially dangerous.
Due to a stressful life, the nerve messages from the brain to the muscles are accelerated, the muscles then become permanently contracted, and the brain interprets this as a sign of danger and sends new disturbing messages to the body. As a result, we get disorders in breathing, circulation and heart work.
"Because of all this, it is very important to learn to relax with special breathing exercises. As a result of proper and deep breathing, the body receives a message - relax, everything will be fine," says Lazarus, as reported by Healthy Cow.
