˝The feeling when I had my first daughter is incredible, unrepeatable, it is very difficult to describe what it looks like and how I felt at that moment,˝ singer Nenad Knežević Knez tells ˝Život˝, talking about the most beautiful parenting experiences. It says that a person feels "incredible happiness, satisfaction, fulfillment".
He states that, on the other hand, there is also a great sense of responsibility, that one should be a parent and provide the child with a safe life and provide him with adequate upbringing and attention.
˝It is not easy to be a parent in every sense,˝ Nenad points out. He states that such a young person should be led on the right path, brought up in the way children are brought up, because "times have changed a lot."
˝There are enough bad influences, through the media. These young generations are growing up much, much faster. They mature earlier than they did when I was young and a teenager.
Nenad has two daughters. Ksenija is 17 years old, and Andrea is 14. When it comes to the most difficult period of parenting so far, Nenad states that some say that "small children are a small concern, and big children are a big concern".
"I don't know if I would agree with that. It seems to me, however, that the period when there were babies was the most difficult.
He remembers that then, returning tired from work, he wanted sleep and rest, and it was during that period that Ksenija and Andrea would wake up.
˝Well, then comes feeding, changing, bathing, so that period was probably more difficult for me than now," says Nenad, pointing out that now some other worries have come to the fore.
˝Now my daughters want to go out, they want to have fun, there are also trips, excursions. You need a person to just talk non-stop, to try to draw attention to some things that they should take into account with some advice.
Regarding whether he is a permissive or strict father, he points out that he is quite permissive, unlike his wife.
˝She is stricter, it seems, than me,˝ says Nenad.
Absolutely all the time in this world, says Nenad, is reserved for his daughters.
˝I even put work on the back burner compared to children˝. Nenad believes that children should not be held back if they have certain wishes.
˝Not now to be lenient, but simply to try to understand the child to the end and to always try to meet the children,˝ concludes our famous musician.
Education is extremely important
They spend their free time in various ways. "Whether it's some of our trips to the shopping mall, whether it's trips, in any case, we're together very often. We go out or, if we're at home, we watch shows, movies, etc. together.
She points out that she teaches her daughters to be sincere, honest, hard-working, to work hard in school, because education is very important for their future life, to be fair, correct in every sense, to be cheerful, not to be closed-minded, and to use their talents that have, use it in the best possible way.
